Janne’s communication is impeccable. She is approachable, and takes time to answer all questions fully. She remains available after you take a kitten home – I feel welcome to contact her any time. Her passion for the breed is obvious – the property is lovely and so well set up for the cats, and Janne is very careful about choosing homes for the kittens. Our kitten, Hermes, is five months old now. He was a birthday present for our daughter, who dotes on him. He has been the most incredible addition to our family. We have all fallen for his hilarious and engaging personality. He quickly became best friends with the dog – the two of them play wildly together for hours every day. We moved house recently, and he wasn’t phased in the least. We take him on car trips to visit family and friends, and will take him sailing over the summer. Hermes is bold, energetic, affectionate and robust. He hasn’t had a moment’s illness. His digestion has been perfect. He is raw fed – and particularly adores rabbit, and chicken necks. I really can’t quite put into words what Hermes has added to our family dynamic. We all, including the dog, have a very special relationship with him. He is a magical creature, and I am so grateful that Janne chose us to be his forever home.

As Bengal breeders in England, we first made contact with Janne In January 2019, prior to us moving to New Zealand. Dianne and I live in Dunedin where exposure and accessibility to knowledgeable and accommodating breeders of either cats or dogs is limited. I have recently picked up my gorgeous Bengal kitten from Janne at Spotcombengal Cats. This is the 2nd kitten I have got from Janne. Tragically, my first kitten Zak was run over and killed. He was just coming up to his 1st birthday and I was devasted. Once I had got over the loss of Zak I contacted Janne to see if she had any kittens available. Janne really did go out of her way to pair up the same parents of Zak and it is comforting to know that I have a beautiful full brother to Zak. Janne has an awesome property near Waihi where her cats and dogs enjoy playing in the garden and climbing trees. She has imported beautiful new cats which will be bred next season with the top of the line kittens she has kept. Her breeding experience and dedication to improving her lines ensures you will not regret getting your new kitten from Janne and Pete. Bengals are just a bit different to other breeds, they love to be around their humans and act more like little dogs. They are very smart and will be the talk of the neighborhood when they see your new family member. Everyone has been so impressed with their beauty and smarts when they meet them. All I can say is go for it, get a Bengal and get it from Janne so you can be sure to get a beautiful, healthy purebred kitten. Often kittens bought off Trade Me are actually cross bred. SPOTCOMBENGAL KINO KID & LADY OPHELIA (Ninja and Ophelia)
We had finally done it! Sold the house in suburbia and brought the dream little block in the country! What would make the dream complete……. A Bengal baby to add to the family! We did our research and went with Spotcombengal in Waikino. We weren’t sure exactly what colour we wanted or whether we wanted a boy or a girl. After going to meet some kittens we fell in love with 2 and thought we have to have both! A handsome marbled boy who we called Ninja and an gorgeous little lynx we called Lady Ophelia.
We were blown away by Janne’s cattery set up. It was so professionally done, very clean and the cats all looked so comfortable and happy in their little houses. As the kittens were growing up Jan kept us very well informed on them sending us weekly videos and updates on how they were doing. We really appreciated this and I felt like we knew them before we even brought them home! She would tell us how their personalities were shaping up, what adventures they had for the day, videos of their first explore outside!
Janne is very easy to deal with and you can tell she is dedicated to the animals in her care. She has a lot of experience with animals and this directly reflects on how happy, healthy and well socialized her kittens are. The vet checks and boosters were all up to date and my vet was blown away by how healthy they were, how solid Ninja was and how much catittude Lady Ophelia had when it came to worming pill time haha.
Janne also gave us all the information we needed for taking the babies home some information on Bengals and how to settle them in. She has kept in touch since they left and we have sent her updates and pictures of the babies growing up. So Ninja and Ophelia are all settled in with the family. Our 12 year old daughter adores them, they love cuddling with her at bed time. Our large dopey SPCA special dog called Whiskey has made firm friends with them both and they are even allowed in his kennel! And the 8 rescue hens have to take turns digging in the garden with the kittens. My husband who “doesn't even like cats” is regularly snapped asleep on the couch covered in sleeping Bengal babies.
I cannot recommend Janne at Spotcombengal enough to anyone who wants the joy of owning a Bengal cat (or two). Thanks Janne

We purchased two absolutely gorgeous boy Bengal kittens this season from Janne, a brown and a silver. They were from two different litters however we got them the same time so there wasn't any territorial problem. Because they were both neutered, no problems either with having two males. I'm so glad we got two, they keep each other company when we are at work, and wear each other's energy out... They are best of friends! They are affectionate and love snuggles with us, and have their own unique personalities.
Janne was very supportive throughout, and provided regular updates and photos. She also provided helpful advice about our beautiful boys, and communication with her was easy and great! Very reliable breeder!

SPOTCOMBENGAL sweet bella
This is Bella, a beautiful Bengal female from Spotcombengal at Waihi. She has beautiful markings and a temperament to match.
Spotcombengal have been excellent to deal with from first phone call to Bella arriving at Kaikoura down south at 10 weeks old. We decided to transport her by Petbus rather than by air and Janne organised getting her onto the bus.
She came vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, with her little travel bag of blanket, some biscuits, and various paperwork on the care and information on the breed. Also with six weeks of pet insurance for her epic journey to the mainland.
Spotcombengal has been excellent to deal with, sending great information and following up on Bella’s well-being. I would recommend Spotcombengal to anyone who is thinking of getting a Bengal kitten. Janne runs an excellent breeding business and if Bella is any indication, she produces the best. Highly recommended.

We contacted Janne to see if there was a possibility of purchasing a wee Bengal from her. From the very first contact Janne has been a pleasure to deal with. She is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about this wonderful breed of cat. She cares for her breeding stock wonderfully.
We visited Janne 3 times, once when the litter was born and twice before we were able to take Monty home.
The kittens were all well cared for, happy and healthy and we had no hesitation in deciding to purchase our wee girl from Janne. From the moment we brought Monty home she has been a delight. She was well socialized with dogs which was a real bonus for us as we have a dog in our family. Monty was in superb health, bright eyed and beautiful. She loves to chase, climb, play with her toys and certainly loves her food! She follows us round "talking" to us, wanting to be stroked, and letting us know very loudly if she thinks Breakfast, lunch or dinner is overdue. She is a truly wonderful addition to our family and with her loving nature and stunning good looks, we couldn't be happier.

“My husband and I were absolutely adamant that we would never get a pet. We thought three children were quite enough.
But we didn’t count on how dedicated and persistent our youngest daughter would be in her attempts to change our minds.
After her sustained campaign of presentations, speeches and impassioned letters - not to mention extensive research about the ideal pet for our family (a female, silver Bengal... loyal, playful, intelligent, beautiful, independent...) - it really was impossible to keep saying no.
We found Spotcom Bengal online and began communicating with Janne, who was immediately welcoming and helpful with lots of honest and practical advice as we made the decision to get a cat.
The moment we laid eyes on our little kitten we were instantly transformed into completely infatuated, devoted, servants to our new feline overlord... Ming.
Ming came to us in perfect health... she had been vaccinated, microchipped, litter trained and loved, having been born into what looked to us like cat paradise.
We have stayed in contact with Janne - sending pictures and asking for the occasional piece of advice. We’ve even taken Ming to visit her. (I think even Janne thinks we’ve gone completely potty.)
Ming trots around the house like she owns it, accepts our outpourings of love with the occasional tolerant purr, allows us to cuddle her if we are very good, plays fetch with a stick, talks to us ALL the time, sits on our laps in the evenings, flirts with visitors, cuddles up with us at night, and catches rats!
Not a day goes by when our daughter doesn’t sidle up to us with a cheeky expression - as we’re gazing lovingly at Ming and talking to her in ridiculous, high-pitched baby voices - and say ‘You’re welcome!’”
